Beginner: V0-V3

Intermediate: V3-V5

Advanced: V5+

Youth: 6 - 12 y/o

Adult: 13 y/o & older

Male & Female winners. Prizes will go to all categories first, second, and third places.

Session 1: 8am-11am

Session 2: 12pm-3pm

Comp Format

The Bat Cave Boulder Comp is a Modified Red Point format.

  • A variety of boulder problems will be set, each will have a designated point value based on the difficulty.

  • All boulder problems will be available to all competitors at the same time.

  • All competitors may attempt the climbs as many times as they wish during the 3 hour session.

  • Attempts will be recorded with the score and may be used in the event of a tie.

Costume Competiton

It wouldn’t be a Halloween comp without a costume contest! At Bat Cave Boulder Comp 25’ the competition isn’t just on the wall. Show up ready to send and stand out, because our boulder comp doubles as a full-on costume contest.

Always looking for volunteers to be judges. You can be a competitor and still volunteer, you just need to volunteer a session after to yours. No sneak peeks! If you're interested in volunteering please call the gym or come to the front desk to inquire.

Most Creative Costume

*Climbers may climb in their costumes as long as there are no hard or sharp objects attached to your person. Climbers may also take the costume off to climb if they so wish!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Each boulder will have a point value. Points are gained only if the boulder is completed. The five highest scoring climbs will count towards the climber’s score.

  • No. Each climber will be placed in beginner, intermediate, or advanced based on their total score.

  • Each category will have a point threshold. Climbers are placed into a category based on where their score falls in relation to the thresholds. Other measures are in place to prevent climbers from gaming the system.

  • Anytime the competitor has touched the ground after leaving the ground, or if the competitor has made an incorrect start.

  • All competitors must show up at least 30 minutes early to check in and receive a scorecard.

  • Yes, 10 minutes prior to session to start time.

  • Spectators are welcomed and at no cost. Just asked to stay out of the competition area.
